The gym is fun. I like it when we play with hoolahoops. I also like it when we use beanbags, throwing them HIGH in the air!!

Gym

In gym we have been working with hoolahoops , we have skipped forward and backward with hoolahoops. When we warm up in gym we run skip and gallop. When we use the parachute sometimes we go under and sit on it and all the air stays in. We have also used beanbags. When we use beanbag’s we have to launch them in a hoop or near a hoop. We also learned how to juggle it is really fun!!!!!!!!!!! When I get home I am going to get something and practice juggling at home!!!! I LOVE GYM!!!!!!!!!!

The Eric Carle Stories

Our grade 2/3 class has been writing a story.
Now we are making pictures out of the different paintings we created (sponge painting, bubble painting, splatter painting and squeege painting).
Our story has to have six pages or five pages.
When we are finished, we will laminate it. Then we will have our own book to read.

The Books We are Reading At Perth Road Public School

We are reading some chapter books. These are the books we are reading.

Just Grace
Still Just Grace
There are four girls named Grace in these books. They have to pick names, one Grace is named Grace W. And one is Grace L. One is Grace F. (She is the BIG MEANNIE to Just Grace). The last Grace is Just Grace but she doesn’t like it when people call her that.

Eric Carle Writing

Our grade 2/3 class are making Eric Carle style writing. Eric Carle stories have to have a pattern. It is so fun because first we have to paint, not a picture you just have to smear the paint all over the page. then let it dry. After, when it is dry you cut out the shapes you want in a picture. My story is about a horse named Brownie that signs up for racing and thinks she wont be fast enough. And she runs into a snail a dog and a worm. I think all my classmates books are going to be AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!! I am pretty sure my classmates are having so much fun making these I can’t wait for my book to get laminated!!!

Gould Lake

I liked going to Gould Lake. It was a lot of fun!!!!! My favourite part was finding a hole in a tree that was made by a woodpecker. I stuck my hand in it!!!! We learned about porcupines and how they use their quills. Porcupines defend themselves by sticking up their quills. There is one animal who can avoid porcupine quills: a fischer. A fischer can bite a porcupine before it can swing around and get quills into the fischer. Now that we’ve gone to Gould Lake, I would like to learn more about porcupines - how they survive in the winter and what they are related to.

Gould Lake

What I liked the most was when we saw the nymphs at the pond. I would like to learn more about porcupines. I learned that mica was used for a lot of things in the olden days. What I also liked was seeing the woodpecker hole. I would also like to learn more about the insects in the pond. I also learned that if you get a porcupine quill in your hand it will come out the other side of your hand. Some day I hope we can go back to Gould Lake.
