A Christmas Poem

C is for candles flickering like a firefly.
H is for holly three leaves you will see.
R is for ribbons twirling and swirling.
I is for ice with skaters all over.
S is for star and some have four points.
T is for toys every child craves.
M is for manger it calms me at night.
A is for angel with a ring over head.
S is for snowflakes falling without a peep.

Slate Boards

We went to a olden days school. They had all the things students used in the 1800's. I liked the slate boards. They were fun to use but they were squeaky!!!

Using Pen And Ink At The Museum

On Wednesday December the 2 the grade 2/3 class went to the Frontanac County Schools Museum and we wrote with pen and ink. It took a long time because we had to keep dipping the pen in the ink every time it ran out. It was a lot of fun and I hope we can go back!!

Old Typewriters

Our grade two three class went for a field trip to a one room school house museum and we got to see very old typewriters.

After that, we got to see a different kind of typewriter, and it was older than the other typewriter. The typewriters were older than mid evil times. When we were getting ready to leave, I took a picture of the old typewriters. Our field trip was so fun!

Pen and Ink

When we went to the one room School Museum, we used the pen and ink. It was hard to use the nib-pen with the bottle of ink without spilling or knocking it over. We had no messes. We had fun using the pen and ink at the Schools Museum in Barriefield.

Chores

Chores were very different back in the olden days. At school the teacher would choose helpers for the day. One chore is bringing in the water from the well.

Children did many chores back then. Cleaning the blackboard, organizing the boots, and sweeping the floor are a few.

Card making

Our grade 2/3 class all went to the Schools Museum and made cards. There was a picture on the front and we wrote messages inside. We got to write with olden days pen and ink. We went on Wednesday December 2, 2009.

The 1 Room School House Typewriter

When my grade 2/3 class went to the one room schoolhouse we saw a typewriter. When I saw it I remembered my Poppa used to be an editor and he used a typewriter.

Everybody loved using the typewriters. I loved it too! I had so much fun at the schools museum.
